In the past few months, what have you been experimenting with and learning from it, Director of Strategic Accounts at Solita, Hans Sandvik?
I wanted to find a new way of inspiring our team to find new possibilities and interesting development areas together with our clients and within our company. How to inspire our team to new ideas and innovations?
The role of an Account Director is very versatile and includes many responsibilities. We need to follow up numbers and revenue, but we also need food for thought, new ideas, inspiring talks, co-creating, and co-innovation. We need this to get that spark glowing within and making us want to run to tell the customer great new things we can achieve together.
I shifted the focus of our weekly meeting from the “number status round” to include motivating and interesting discussions from different experts. We started off by having an inspirational presenter about 2021 biggest tech trends that the Covid-19 pushed forward. Sangeet Paul Choudary’s thinking about The State of the Platform Revolutions 2021 can also be found in platformthinkinglabs.com
Then we continued to create closer co-creating talks with our different teams around the company. Sharing knowledge and sharing ideas from different roles.
The change made was pretty basic stuff really, but the main thing is to notice when to break the routines and how to utilize the potential of the whole team and the experts around the company. The change got really positive feedback and it has started many new discussions with our clients. It is getting the effect I was hoping for. It takes a bit more effort from my side to organize, but it´s worth it.
In these lonesome meeting marathons at the home office, we need inspiring discussions together, now more than ever. We need to find those areas of interest that shift our thinking from the grey everyday routine to feed that fire within. To make this happen we need to make time for these discussions, and engage all of the people. And to get those discussions going one way is to bring new guests to the routine meetings to ramp things up.
Thank you Hasse!
